The Rev. Richard Price Baskwill is a native of Bangor, Pennsylvania, which is a slate-quarrying town similar to Delta but located in the Lehigh Valley of eastern Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Lafayette College in Easton, PA, and Union Theological Seminary in New York City.

In August of 1999 Rev. Baskwill was awarded a green robe as a member of the Gorsedd of the Isles of Britain at the Royal National Eisteddfod of Wales in Anglesey, Wales. He was given the bardic name of "Rhisiart Rehoboth."
