Quentin Faulkner presented a program on Saturday, November 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at First United Methodist Church, Fenn Street, in Pittsfield. His subject, illustrated by recordings, was “The Registration of J. S. Bach’s Organ Works.” In 2008 Faulkner, a noted Bach scholar, published a book with that title available from Wayne Leupold Editions. Updated November 7, 2009 CHURCH MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCED
Information and applications can be obtained by visiting the scholarship website http://www.chbscholarship.com, or by writing “The Charlotte H. Bagnall Scholarship” at 17 Beaverbrook Rd., West Simsbury, CT 06092. Applications are due by December 31, 2009. Composer Mike Hutchinson currently has seventeen works available as PDF files, in addition to three published works found at www.zimbel.com. He will be happy to share with chapter members. There is no charge to get these files to your computer, but he requests a $10 fee to cover production and mailing costs if you wish printed copies of the set. There is a 55 minute CD available of all these works and more, recorded in June 2009. There are notes included on each piece, including identities of the participants. The price is $1 if hand-delivered or $5 if mailed, which covers material and/or mailing costs.
