Fairhaven School

Dear Parents:
We had a very productive week. Yesterday we
had a picnic for the students and their families.
During this week we have read the books:
“The Big Toe”, “Thumbelina”, “Aminals”, The
Trolley”,” Big Bear, Big Bear”.
Tuesday and Wednesday the students had a
substitute teacher in the morning so that I could observe two of the teachers
at our school.
My students learned the -ig Word Family.
They also practiced writing and they are in
the process of finishing a poster about themselves, for which they are going to
need a picture.
We had been solving “the problems of the
day” during the week..
Tomorrow Friday we are going to learn
compound words.
With this letter I am sending a calendar
for you and your children to keep track of how many minutes they read each day.
In first grade homework consists of the
students reading for 20 minutes each night.
Monday 6 there is no school.
Sincerely,
Beatriz Menendez
