Barbara Saffer

Barbara Saffer, a former college instructor, has
Ph.D. degrees in biology and geology. She grew up in New York City, has lived in
Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, and Tennessee, and did research in many parts of
the United States and Canada. Barbara is now a children's writer.
Barbara Saffer's Gifted and Talented Science Books make science fun, and her
stories, articles, poems, and puzzles have appeared in numerous children's
magazines, including Cricket, Odyssey, U.S. Kids, Boys'
Quest, and Hopscotch. Barbara has also written books about geography,
exploration, famous people, and historical events.
Barbara's fun mystery books for children - starring Shannon Holmes, private
detective; her assistant Bruce Watson; and her parrot Lucky, will be available
soon. Barbara lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee with her husband, children, and
pets.
