Bruce Harvey

“From my bedroom window I look east to see the mountains each morning and when lucky get to watch the sun overcome them.”

Bruce Harvey is a native of East Tennessee, has lived in many places over the past 40 years, and now resides in Dalton, Georgia.

He wrote sporadically as a young man, but turned the world off and didn’t write for 30 years.  Now, writing is his path back to relating to his fellows.

In engineering studies during the sixties at Tennessee Tech, English was a necessary skill for writing good lab reports.  He never expected more.  College Grammar with all of those red marks was bearable, but he looked forward to the Literature section where they read and explored the minds of great thinkers from the past.  Words are magic and therefore reading has always been one of his favorite hobbies.

Bruce says, “Today I am intrigued with the concept that our spirit is a captive of our body.  I don’t think of us as physical bodies with a soul, but as a soul unwillingly bound to a physical frame.   The body is limited in so many ways, but the spirit truly has no limits to what it can think or do.”
