Dennis Upkins

Dennis R. Upkins was born and raised in Nashville, TN. Since his first creative writing assignment in the third grade, he has maintained an affinity for storytelling. At 15, his first published essay was featured in The Basic Not Boring: Reading Comprehension Workbook. Influenced by authors such as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Peter David, Joss Whedon and J.K. Rowling, Dennis’s favorite genre of fiction is sci-fi fantasy.

Dennis graduated with honors from Christ Presbyterian Academy. While attending the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, he worked as news editor and later assistant editor at the University Echo student newspaper. He graduated in a little over three years with a B.A. in English and worked as a reporter for the Cleveland Daily Banner. Dennis has also been featured in Who’s Who Among American High School Students, the National Dean’s List and Who’s Who Among American College Students.

Aside from writing, his hobbies include drawing, martial arts and rollerblading. He is currently working on a fantasy novel.
