Joseph Michael DeGross Joe DeGross is a fiction and essay writer, a fiction editor, and a teacher of creative writing and humanities. His fiction has or will appear in Carve, MFA Pawprints, North Atlantic Review, an anthology called Literary Lunch, and in other literary magazines. His essays have appeared in Southern Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Resident and Staff Physician, The Bergen Record, and The New York Times. He is the former Senior Editor of Carve Magazine and Best of Carve Anthology, was an associate editor for the fiction anthology, e2ink-1, and is the founder and Editor-in Chief of the new online journal, The Ensign Literary Review. DeGross is director of a fiction writing workshop series called Apprentice to the Masters and gives workshops throughout the eastern US. He is a professor of medicine and humanities at Mercer University, a retired physician, and holds an MFA degree in creative writing. Joe can be contacted at jmdegross@aol.com.
