No real news to report. I just want to wish everyone the best for the holiday season.
Please please PLEASE keep the less fortunate in your thoughts and help when/if you can.
Be happy, be safe, count your blessings, and always remember that is it is ALWAYS better to love than to hate!

That Katrina was no lady. You have all seen the pictures, and heard the stories by now. I am working on a separate page to post thoughts and links about the storm, the aftermath, and some relief sites that I feel shouldn't be overlooked.

My very good Friend, Producer, Music Lawyer, Drinking Buddy, and Occasional Songwriting Partner, the one and only Steve Moore, has written a new book entitled "The Truth About The Music Business". I know first-hand the incredible amount of blood, sweat, tears, and YEARS that Steve put into this book.

Steve has over 26 years of experience in the music industry, including a dozen years working as an Entertainment Lawyer on Music Row in Nashville. He is also a regular old working musician guy like the rest of us.
He covers topics like legal issues, business plans, promotion, and scams and ripoffs to watch out for, in a straight forward and easy to understand way. This book is a steal for what you get, and I HIGHLY recommend you get a copy NOW. What are you waiting for?

And No, I don't get anything for my endorsement. Hmmm...maybe I need to get a new lawyer???

One year ago today we lost my big brother Ron to Scleroderma. Ironically, June is Scleroderma Awareness Month. Even if you haven't anything to contribute, please at least visit the links and learn about this horrible disease. I would consider it a personal favor.

Happy New Year!

Wow, it seems like forever since I sat down and had time to post anything new here. What can I say, 2004 was some year.

There were high points, like the release of the compilation CD on High Cotton Records. The song I recorded on that has been very well received, which makes me very happy.

There were also some real low points in 2004. I lost my brother Ron in June. Ron was an inspiration to me in a lot of ways, and his loss is something that I doubt I will ever truly get over. More recently my Dad had bypass surgery, and due to complications spent an entire month INCLUDING the Christmas and New Year's holidays in Intensive Care. Just today he was finally moved from the I.C.U. into a regular room. We are looking forward to him finally coming home very soon, if all goes well.

On the music scene, not much to report of late. The status of The Relix is still somewhat uncertain. We didn't really do much last year, and haven't really discussed anything as far as the future of the band is concerned. The High Cotton CD is doing ok, but there hasn't been a lot of local excitement or support for it. Hopefully that will change soon. If not the whole idea is in danger of dying on the vine, which would be a shame.
My own CD project was once again delayed obviously, thanks to so many personal and business conflicts. Maybe this year will be the year! We shall see...

That's all for now. Here's to a great year in 2005, and I hope to see you all again soon!

Musician's Night is back! Beginning June 9th, I will again be hosting Musician's Night at the Shed House. Come on out and hear Meridian's best musicians every Wednesday night from 8:00 till, no cover.

WZKR Radio (103.3 FM) has promised airplay for the Meridian Recording Artists CD.
Be sure and call their request line at (601)-693-1103 and ask them to play it.
Especially that "Ninety-Nine Days" song... Thanks in advance!

The Meridian Compilation CD is here! It sounds absolutely great, and I am really proud to be included along with so many great musicians/artists. You can get one at the High Cotton site for only $15, or just send me a note (along with your money...LOL), and I will send you one.

RC 4/20/04

The Meridian Compilation release date has been set for May 1. There will be a weekend long Bash at Midtown Grill, so everyone come out and support your local musicians! See the High Cotton website for details.

It looks like Little Wheel is no more, unfortunately. We had a lot of fun playing together, and are all still friends. There are just too many schedule and other issues to deal with. I have a couple of other projects in the works though, so stay tuned...

The Meridian Complilation CD is finished and it sounds great! We are looking at possibly an April Release, but I haven't been given a confirmed date. Check back for updates, and check the High Cotton site for Release Party dates and other info.

Little Wheel is still on indefinite hiatus, but we plan to meet soon and discuss playing a few dates.

I hope everybody enjoyed the Holidays! I have been on a little break lately. Had a great holiday visiting family and friends. I should be back to work soon, so check the schedule.

RC- 1/07/04

I haven't had time to do much updating lately, but there are a few additions here and there, so have a look around.

The Meridian Compilaton CD is about done, and what I have heard of it sounds great. I am excited to be a part of it. I still don't have a definite release date, but it should be out in time for Christmas. High Cotton Records is sending out a newsletter with updates on the CD, show dates for the artists, etc. Anyone who wants to get can go to the High Cotton website, or just send me a note.

That's all for now. I have lots more music, and some other projects in the works. I am certainly looking forward to the next year!
Everyone have a great holiday season!

I have committed to a project with some old friends at High Cotton Records.
I will be a part of a compilation CD with some other local artists. Recording has begun and we should be done soon. There will be a release party as soon as we have the finished product ready to go. I AM counting on all of my friends' support in making this a sucessful venture. If it does well, there will be a Volume Two!

*Update* The recording is almost finished! We should have the CD ready to go soon. Check back here, or on the High Cotton site for a release party date!

I have busy writing some new songs. I am finally (I hope) getting ready to record some of this stuff. The CD project has been started and then shelved several times, which has been frustrating for all involved. It will happen when the time is right. I just don't want to put anything out that is less than my best. Stay tuned...

I finally added a guestbook, so please be sure and say hi before you leave!
Tell me what you like and don't like about the site.
All comments and ideas will be very much appreciated!
