A Dog’s Life (Ode To Max)

Sitting in the shade, scratching fleas
Tongue is hanging down, below my knees
All stretched out, on my back
Legs sticking up, it’s a nap attack
I don’t care what you call me
As long as you call me around supper time

I don’t need, very much at all
Just a belly rub, and a rubber ball
Chase my tail, run for joy
My private parts, are my favorite toy
I don’t care what you call me
As long as you call me around supper time

Up that tree, went the neighbor’s cat
Sure like to have me, a piece of that
Dig a hole, bark at the moon
Sure hope you, are going to come home soon
I don’t care what you call me
As long as you call me around supper time
