Below are some links to other web sites I like:
Australian
Shepherd Rescue Page
This is the place to go if you're interested in Aussie Rescue. Barry
Brachman has done a great job in creating and maintaining this
site. There are pictures of Aussies looking for homes, pictures
of Aussies who have found homes, links to the various Aussie
rescue organizations, and links to Aussie info in general.
ARPH (Aussie Rescue
& Placement Helpline) Eastern U.S. Page
There's a link to this on Barry's page, but since they got me out
of the pound and into a home, I thought I should recognize them
here. Like all rescue folks, they're a great bunch of people
whose primary concern is the dogs. ARPH rules!
ARPH New
Owner's Kit
Subtitled "Resources for families of rescued Aussies",
Jules Schaefer did a really nice job of putting together this
handy collection of info for those folks who are welcoming a
rescue Aussie into their home. She even used a couple of pictures
of yours truly!
Pat Dwyer's Page
Aunt Pat is an ARPH rep for New York, and one of the people who
was instrumental in getting me out of the shelter and into a home
of my own.
Kay Marks' Page
Aunt Kay is the Northeast Regional ARPH director, and worked with
Daddy in getting me a home in South Jersey. There are pictures of
two of her pups on my Friends of the Red
Dawg page.
Australian
Shepherd Pet Standard
The standard by which all Aussies should be judged, not just
those in competition.
A
Field Guide To Coloration of Australian Shepherds
Lisa McDonald has done an excellent job documenting and
explaining the things that make Aussies look so unique. She also
includes lots of pictures of some really cool looking Aussies!
ASCA (Australian Shepherd Club
of America)
(from the 'All About ASCA' page) The Australian Shepherd Club of
America, Inc. (ASCA) was established as the parent club for the
breed in 1957. Increasing interest in competition led to the
development of merit programs. These programs today provide
certification and titles in Stockdog, Conformation, Obedience,
Tracking, and Agility as well as recognition to the top Juniors.
USASA (United
States Australian Shepherd Association
The United States Australian Shepherd Association is an affiliate
of The American Kennel Club.
Kip and Peanut
Kip was my barking buddy in our first obedience class; he got a
sister, Peanut, when his Mom Traci adopted her from ARPH in
November, 2000!
