Welcome....
"Whenever something bad happens that involves a firearm......we can pass more and more laws and restrict the use of them by the people who *DIDN'T* do it. Who cares that they are not the problem...yeah, that's the ticket!" - View of most anti-gunners
"I do not carry a firearm because I fear my government.....however my government appears to fear me, simply because I carry that firearm." - The Sandman
"Any person who would never use a firearm to protect themselves or their family and tries to prevent their use by other people is a hypocrite of absolutely the highest order since they never have to face any accountability for that action." - The Sandman
"The largest gap between liberals and conservatives is the white space between the First and Second Amendments to the Constitution." - Peter McWilliams
"Self-defense, it should be noted, starts with 'self'." - "dfbeck"
"Anyone who wants to get rid of all the guns apparently thinks that the earth should be ruled by large, strong men with swords and clubs. I think we already tried that. It was called the Dark Ages." - Christopher Morton
"Foolish liberals who are trying to read the Second Amendment out of the Constitution by claiming that it's not an individual right or that it's too much of a safety hazard don't see the danger of the big picture. They're courting disaster by encouraging others to use the same means to eliminate portions of the Constitution they don't like." - Alan Dershowitz, Nationally famous attorney
"Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how well respected, is the right of the citizens to keep and bear arms. This is not to say that firearms should not be very carefully used, and that definite safety rules of precaution should not be taught and enforced. But the right of citizens to keep and bear arms is just one more guarantee against arbitrary government, one more safeguard against a tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible." - Sen. Hubert H Humphrey, Guns Magazine, p.4, February, 1960.
"The government is good at one thing...it knows how to break your legs, and then hand you a crutch and say 'see if it weren't for the government you wouldn't be able to walk.'" - Harry Browne
"Since there is no such entity as 'the public,' since the public is merely a number of individuals, the idea that 'the public interest' supersedes private interests and rights can have but one meaning: that the interests and rights of some individuals take precedence over the interests and rights of others." - Ayn Rand

Constitution of the United States
Government Printing Office (GPO) page you can find different views of the Constitution including being annotated with all the federal court cases up through June 28, 2000. A little hard to read in the straight text version but also has easier to read PDF (Acrobat reader) versions.
Federalist and Anti-Federalist Papers
The Federalist papers were written by the pro strong federal government framers of the Constitution.
The Anti-Federalist papers were written by other framers of the Constitution who wished for a weaker federal government and are the ones responsible for our Bill of Rights.
