Different branches of the family use slightly different pronunciations. Some use a short 'o', others a long 'o'. Likewise, some are careful to enunciate the middle 't' clearly, while others elide it.
In my branch of the family, we use a long 'o' and a fully enunciated 't'. I believe this is in accordance with modern German pronunciation. The long 'o' pronunciation was confirmed by the Burgermeister of Schlotfeld, as described under "Origins of the family and its name". However, the name is actually Plattdeutch ("low German"), so our predecessors may have used a pronunciation somewhat different than the modern German pronunciation.
Apart from that its just nine consonants and two vowels pronounced the way it looks.
