Vermont Online Library Through the Vermont Online Library (VOL), the State of Vermont Department of Libraries and your local library provide electronic information databases free to all Vermonters.These include resources for all age levels and research needs. Because your local library is a member of VOL, these resources are available 24-hours-a-day from not only your library but anywhere Internet access is available In order to acquire remote access, you may call, stop in, or send an email to Reading Public Library stating that you would like to have access to the Vermont Online Library. Indexes and original page images mean no additional trips, inter-library loan requests or work by researchers or staff. With more than 25,000 books, the entire U.S. Federal Census, PERSI™ (Periodical Source Index), as well as other collections, HeritageQuest Online provides an opportunity to tap into one of the largest collections of genealogy material in the country.
