Our rosters are full.  Okay, perhaps OVERFULL.  It's very important that each school give an accurate number of teams and students. 

The loading device has been built and the official weight will be publicized as soon as we are sure it is final.

One piece of paperwork will need to be completed before the contest day that has not been previously discussed.  We will be taking photos and videotaping the event, and need parental permission for their child's image to be used.  The form is presently being developed and will be posted soon.  While we have no idea what press attention will be received, we do know that footage has been requested for use in an educational video.

Everyone should take a minute to take in what we have here.  Sixty engineers are taking time off from their work and 25 teachers have decided to stay on after school hours to work directly with students as they create.  Beyond this, there is a team of other volunteers, mostly members of the BSCES Infrastructure Group, that put countless hours into making the specs and setting up every minute detail of this competition.  And all this would not have been possible without the generous donations by our sponsors.

Students should know this, and perhaps some day they make look back, remember, and want to help the next generation in a similar way. Also, the teams should in some way formally recognize the generosity of the mentors, either with a thank you note, a letter to the editor of a local paper, or an article in the school newspaper, in any case forwarding them copies.

Students are taught about the cyclical engineering process.  Feedback is the key to everything.  Whether positive or negative, honest feedback is tantamount to any project being successful.  Please email reed.brockman@dmjmharris.com with any comments right away so we can address them as soon as possible.
