Jackins participated in Hubbard's outreach to the medical and psychiatric professions to gain acceptance. When Dianetics was critically scrutinized by these professions, Hubbard and Jackins denounced them to the end of their lives. RC and Dianetics/Scientology continue to disparage the mental health profession and forbid members from taking psychiatric medications.
