Scouting:  A Century of Shaping Boys Into Men

This exhibit is focused on the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America and on the local Scouting community.  It runs through mid-October at the Sunnyvale Heritage Park Museum, located in the Sunnyvale Community Center.

Scouting has been a major part of American history and of the lives of many boys in Santa Clara County.  This exhibit is here to highlight some of the changes that Scouting has experienced over the past 100 years that it has existed in America.  On display are items of general interest as well as items of a personal nature from people in our community.  The changes made to the uniforms and patches are very clear, but the objective of Scouting has remained the same.  The main goals of Scouting have always been to teach boys patriotism, self-reliance, courage, and kindred values.  These goals have helped shape millions of boys into responsible and moral men who have helped make America what it is today.  The pictures, badges, and other memorabilia displayed in this exhibit are tokens of unforgettable experiences made possible through Scouting.
