Welcome to the Willis Retreat!

The Retreat is a perfect base camp for vacationers of all types who want to enjoy the Rocky Mountains in and around the South Park area.  Nineteen miles to the north is Breckenridge which offers world-class skiing, mountain biking, and hiking, along with excellent restaurants and shopping.  A forty minute drive southwest will take you to Buena Vista where you'll find some of the best river rafting opportunities in Colorado.  Thirty minutes to the southeast are Eleven Mile and Spinney reservoirs along with the gold medal waters of the South Platte river, all of which are loaded with trout.  And within minutes of the cabin you'll be able to enjoy some of the State's most beautiful scenery with quick access to Pike National Forest (just two miles away) and numerous places to hike, bike, fish, four-wheel, and just enjoy the outdoors.

The Retreat is located 2 miles from Fairplay, 19 miles from Breckenridge, and just 90 minutes from Denver.  It has 2,500 square feet with four bedrooms plus a queen-size sofa sleeper in the Great Room, a huge two-car garage and car port (the car port can hold the largest of RV's), and two large storage sheds.   The Retreat sits on 5 acres of pine and aspen and gives you the feeling of privacy and seclusion in the Rocky Mountains.  But its nice to know that Fairplay is only 5 minutes away in case you need to run into town and pick up some supplies or dine at one of the local restaurants.

If you're headed over to Breckenridge or Summit County but have never been over Hoosier Pass before, you are in for a treat because it's one of the most beautiful passes in all of Colorado abounding with "14'ers" (mountains higher than 14,000 ft. in elevation) including Mount Quandry, Lincoln, Democrat, Cameron and Bross. 

The Retreat has a paved driveway which helps the snow melt fast and it's only one mile off Highway 9.  Quarry Road, which leads to the cabin, is an "emergency snow route" so it's one of the first roads in the area to be plowed following a snow storm.

Inside the Willis Retreat you'll find a recently remodeled kitchen and a huge Great Room with satellite TV/stereo/CD/DVD/VCR and video library.  The newly added 32" LCD Flatpanel HDTV and Direct TV service provides over 70 Hi-definition channels.  A large deck sits off the Great Room for relaxing under the stars and viewing the wildlife that passes through the property.  The master bedroom includes a California King log bed, the second bedroom has a queen-size bed, and the kid's bedroom comes equipped with bunk beds.  The Master bedroom is equipped with a 20" flatscreen TV while the "Gameroom" bedroom in the back of the Retreat has a 20" TV, a stereo, and a Sony PlayStation 2 with a nice selection of video games (parents:  since this bedroom is in the back of the house, the kids can make all the noise they want and you won't hear a thing!).

Need to stay connected while you're on vacation?  Feel free to bring your laptop and tap into our high-speed wireless network so you can check your emails, surf the Internet, etc.

The lower deck now features a brand new 6-person hot tub.  The spa is protected from the elements but offers terrific views and plenty of privacy.  There are also outdoor speakers connected to a stereo and satellite dish so you can listen to commercial-free digital music.  There is no finer way to unwind after a long day! 

The cabin is pet-friendly and has a large dog run in the back yard when you want to keep your dog secured outside. If you would like a little more room to walk your dog than our 5 acres, Pike National Forest is just two miles down the road. 

If you like to stay in shape during your vacation by working out, pumping iron, or perhaps going for a swim, the cabin is just 2 miles from the South Park Recreation Center.
