Here's a few comments from our recent guests: "Randy, we had a great visit at the Retreat. The boys did some sledding on the hill behind the cabin, they did some snowboarding in Breckenridge, and some shopping in Silverthorne. We loved having the broadband internet service available. In fact, since I do computer support and work from home, this may give us an opportunity to spend some time at your cabin in the Summer without having to take vacation time off. Since I have 3 teen boys and they all want their own bed hotels usually don't work out well for us, but the Retreat did. And, of course, the Retreat allowed us to cook some of our meals instead of eating out all the time. We did try out Patti's in Fairplay for pizza and it was very good. Having the hot tub available was nice, especially after a day on the slopes. Having the garage available was also a big plus...no cleaning snow off the vehicle. We really felt right at home as you have the same coffee table and TV stand we have! I can't think of anything that was not provided. We've stayed at a number of
properties including condos and townhomes. Usually the pictures on the
Internet present the property much better than it really is. Yours is
the first place we've stayed where the property was even better in person

The pictures on the Internet don't do it justice. We had a wonderful
time, even enjoyed the snow. Our dogs really enjoyed the fenced yard.
It was so nice to be able to let them out unleashed and not have to worry
about where they might be. The accommodations were amazing, especially
enjoyed the hot tub and the sunny deck. It was surprising to be able
to be outdoors so much even when the temperatures dipped into the 30's.
We were able to go on a number of hikes in the area and the scenery was
breathtaking! The serenity and peacefulness of your Retreat were a
welcome change from our hectic lives. Thank you for sharing this very
special place with us, hopefully we'll be able to visit again soon." "Sondra and I wanted to let you know just how wonderful our vacation stay at your beautiful Retreat was. First I want to say the photos on your website, although very good, don't do justice to the beauty of the Willis Retreat. When we drove in we were absolutely astounded at it's beautiful grounds. Everything was kept perfectly, with all things in their proper place. And when we went inside things were no different, immaculate!!! Your decorations are adorable and so very appropriate for a mountain lodge. The house felt warm and friendly immediately and we felt perfectly at home. I don't know how you do it, but keep it up! We so enjoyed the woodburning stove. Having a fire in it every day was heaven, especially since the firewood was all cut and piled neatly and ready for me to pick up. We took hikes around your property and our dog, Molly, was in heaven running around smelling all the new scents. Yours is a great place for pets, especially the dog run area of the backyard (that makes it great when they want out in the middle of the night!). As you know, we saw the first snow of the year and was it a wonderful sight! Your property turns into a magical Winter wonderland after only a few inches of snow and we had 10 inches, so you can imagine. To spend the day mesmerized by the snowfall and then relax in the huge hot tub was our definition of a perfect day. Anyway, everything was absolutely
perfect, especially the hospitality and friendliness you showed us. We
will not forget the Willis Retreat and hope to return there many times in
the future. Very sincerely and wishing we were still there, "Wow! What a great time we had
at the cabin! I never wanted it to end. From the moment we
arrived we felt at home and enjoyed one adventure after another. You

Everything is so well kept and stocked and the great decor proves that

"Since we have an uncommonly large family (5 kids) we typically rent
vacation homes rather than booking two separate hotel rooms to accommodate
us. Having stayed at many, many vacation homes in the United States
and in other countries, your cabin was by far the best we have encountered.
Your retreat was extraordinary overall, but the "wow factor" came from the
numerous little details which made our stay so perfect. It is obvious
that you have taken great care in considering and fulfilling what your
guests may want or need. The complete privacy and beautiful scenery
were a wonderful bonus. We truly enjoyed sharing quality time with our

quickly headed back to the cabin to watch the movie we rented in Fairplay.

the Fall! The openness of the Great Room and the large kitchen made us
feel right at home. It was also immaculate and we could wish for
nothing more except scheduling our next time out of our offices so we can
return!! We loved the closeness of Breckenridge and its art galleries
and eateries! In fact, we bought some glass art and are looking
forward to going back. After a day in Breckenridge it was so nice to
escape back to the solitude and beauty of the cabin and its surrounding

Allowing our dogs to come up made all the difference. They were so

short of wonderful. Very relaxing and quiet. We took some hikes,
visited the river, spent a day in Breckenridge and engaged in a cutthroat
game of horseshoes. Your cabin has all the amenities and was the

out so being able to cook our own meals was a huge bonus. Everything
was splendid and I certainly don't have any input as far as improvements!

change a thing!" "The Willis Retreat is a wonderful
place for a family vacation. If you're hesitating at all because its
not right in the heart of town - don't. Its a beautiful drive from
Fairplay to Breckenridge and you don't really even have to leave the cabin
to have a great time. The pictures don't do the place justice.
The Great Room is beautifully decorated with enough room for 2 kids, 2 dogs,
and 4 adults to spread out (with room to spare) and enjoy a game or a movie.
The kitchen is huge - I wish mine were as big! The views off the deck
are spectacular and at night from the hot tub you can see the stars so
clearly. The owner is very conscientious and I believe sincerely cares
about his guests' stay in this beautiful home. We will be returning
this summer and my son already wants to stay in the cabin for his birthday
in September. You won't be disappointed!"

Our family had a wonderful time and we will be back! Some quotes from my
children during our stay... my 8 year old daughter said..."Can't we just
live here? The views are beautiful and the hot tub is so nice; it's my
dream house!".... my 10 year old son said..."Mom can we stay here every time
we go skiing and every time we go to the mountains for anything?". The
Willis Retreat makes you feel at home so much that you never want to leave!
It was wonderful coming to a place that even our dog felt welcome! She (the
dog) seemed bummed out after we came home! I truly cannot think of a thing
you could've done to make our stay any better. . the cabin is nicely
furnished, the beds are comfortable, there are great Playstation games,
