- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 eggs, whipped
- ¾ cup vegetable or corn oil
- 5 apples, skinned and sliced
In a large bowl stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder,
baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Add the skinned and sliced
apples to the dry mixture, stir. In a separate bowl, whip the eggs,
then add vanilla, and oil. Pour all at once into the flour/apple
mixture. Stir until well blended. Add the chopped nuts and blend.
Bake 350° for 35 minutes in a lightly greased 13” x 9” baking pan,
or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.

pretested except by the experience of the submitter. It has been
served at one time or another at one of our Reston Garden Club events
