PEACHES:
- 5 cups peeled, sliced peaches (about 8 large peaches)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
BATTER:
- 3/4 cup flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Prepare peaches in a bowl by combining
peaches, sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt and vanilla. Spoon into
a 9 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish or a 2-quart oven proof bowl.
Prepare batter in a bowl by combining flour, sugar, baking powder,
salt, butter and egg; beat with a wooden spoon until smooth. Drop
batter in portions, spacing evenly over peaches. Batter will spread
during baking. Bake for 40 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm.

served at one time or another at one of our Reston Garden Club events
