Congratulations on your engagement! Choosing the right
officiant for your wedding is an important part of the planning process.
I'm a Portland, OR based interfaith minister specializing in custom
wedding ceremonies in Oregon and Washington.

-
Welcome ceremonies submitted by the bride and groom
-
Travel to the location of your choice for meetings and the ceremony itself
-
Make myself available via email and phone during the entire process, especially
if you live outside of the Portland area
-
File all of the official paperwork afterwards--usually on the first business
day after the wedding
-
Provide a backup person if an emergency should prevent my attendance
-
Wear costumes for theme weddings
-
Provide a contract to clearly define expectations

-
Require that you attend my church
-
Require counseling. I'm available if you want to talk but I don't require
it.
-
Force people to use the "and obey" line in the bride's vows
-
Pressure clients to choose from my ceremony selection or do what I want them to
do
-
Discriminate against interfaith, interracial, non-faith, or same-sex
couples. I always try to treat all people as people.
-
Pick up the marriage license.
-
Demand an invitation to the rehearsal dinner or charge extra if I'm not invited
