Fairy tale on the tailor and Whirlwind
There lived once the tailor; it had a wife. Usually wives of tailors of the idler, and this was a match for another. Called its Jeanne, and her husband - Jean Krivaja Stupnja. In the morning as soon as Jean left for work, Jeanne was again filled up to sleep, hours per the eleven or twelve got up and began to go from the house to the house, visited scandal-mongers and stirred as forty. When Jean by the evening came back home, it always sat at a distaff; here he also imagined, that Jeanne from it did not depart all the day long.
Somehow time Jean has in the morning told to the wife:
- Today I will not work, we together will go on the market to sell a yarn, after all at you it, probably, already has much collected.
Jeanne strongly was frightened; how here to be? It did not have also three hanks of a yarn. She has run to the scandal-monger, the nearest neigbour, and has told to it about the trouble.
- Tell to the husband, - the scandal-monger has advised to it, - that you have washed up a yarn, have taken down it for drying in a bakery and have put in the furnace, and пекарь, anything about it not knowing, have flooded, as always, and all yarn has burnt down.
Having come back home, Jeanne has word for word repeated to the husband to what she was learnt by the scandal-monger.
- The silly woman! - Jean has angrily shouted. - it is visible, you have lost also that particle of reason which at you was and while I will live with you, to me not to get out of poverty. Now in punishment you will sow here in a court yard of a half-measure of a linen seed - here it, - and that to my returning flax has kept up and were вытереблен, is soaked, dried up, connected in bunches and taken down on an attic!
- Full, the hubby, - Jeanne has answered, - as you can speak such things? Anybody on light will not manage it to make; how you want, that I have coped with it?
- Do as you know, - Jean, - but in the evening, to my arrival has answered, all should be ready, differently to you несдобровать.
With these words the tailor has left. Jeanne was disturbed and has run to the scandal-monger.
- If you knew, the godmother, that my husband has thought up! It is visible, it has absolutely gone balmy.
- That it, the godmother, wants?
- That does he want? He wants, that I have sown at us in a court yard of a half-measure of a linen seed and that by the evening this flax has kept up, yes that in addition I it вытеребила, have soaked, have dried up, have connected in bunches and have combined on an attic! Tell, please, unless it would began to stick to me with such nonsense, be it in the mind? - Here it even has burst into tears.
- Do not mourn, the godmother, - has told to it the neigbour. - really we will not find a way and this time to spend your Jean who considers itself as the clever man, and actually the fool what it is not enough? Here that it is necessary to make: at me from last year lays on an attic of a few flax. You take two-three bunches, will untie them, will scatter stalks on neighbouring fields and meadows, will throw on fences and bushes, and in the evening when Jean will return, you will tell to it, that all have made, as he ordered, but that while flax dried on a meadow, has flown the Whirlwind and all swept. And as proof you will show it scattered on bushes and trees stalks.
This council has pleased to Jeanne. It took three bunches of dry flax from the scandal-monger and has scattered it on fields and meadows, has thrown on bushes and on a branch of trees.
In the evening, having come home, Jean has asked at once:
- Well as, the wife, you have made everything, what I to you have this morning punished?
- Still, I in accuracy have executed all your orders, but the hubby, and only does not carry to us!
- What happens?
- What happens? You only think: flax dried on a meadow near a pond where I wetted it, and I have already begun was it to collect to connect in bunches and to take down on an attic as has suddenly flown the Whirlwind and all swept.
- Those-those! I such сказочкам do not trust, - Jean has answered.
- It at all сказочка, the hubby, we will go with me, and you will be convinced, that it is plain truth.
Jeanne has immediately led the husband on a meadow where, as she said, it displayed flax for drying, and has shown it stalks, разметанные on neighbouring fields and the meadows, hooked for bushes and branches of trees.
Willy-nilly the tailor had to believe to the wife, and he has exclaimed:
- Here it that! Time is the Whirlwind has caused me such losses, he to me for them will pay. I now will go to complain to Master Vetrov!
Jean has come back home and, taking with itself the knotty stick, a pie from a barley flour yes some flat cakes, have gone to a way.
There was it long time. There was all forward yes forward and at last has come to be at hill bottom on which the old woman growth about a tower sat. Its grey hair fluttered downwind, the big black tooth stuck out of a mouth, unique which at it has escaped.
- Hello, the grandmother, - the tailor has told to it.
- Hello, - the old woman has answered. - that you search?
- I search for dwelling of Winds.
- In that case, the sonny, you at the way end: dwelling of Winds here, and I - their mother. What from them it is necessary for you?
- I have come to demand from them money for losses which they have caused me.
- What such losses? Tell to me, and I to you will compensate them, if you have really suffered.
- Your son clean me has ruined the Whirlwind...
And Jean has told to the old woman as there was a business. She has told:
- Enter into our house, the sonny and when the son my Whirlwind will return, I will force it to pay to you for losses.
The old woman has gone down from a hill and has led Jean in the house standing in a depression in the ground. It was the hut constructed of branches and clods of the earth; it blew from different directions. The old woman has allowed to Jean to eat and has told, that it was not frightened, when her son will return, as she will manage with it to consult, though the Whirlwind and will threaten, that will eat the newcomer. Terrible noise was soon distributed: trees cracked, stones darted off, wolves lingeringly howled.
- He/she is the son my Whirlwind hastens home, - the old woman has told.
Jean so has got a fright, that has got under a table. The whirlwind has entered, growling, has sniffed and has shouted:
- I feel human spirit! Here the person is hidden, I will eat it!
- Do not hope, my son, that I will allow you to eat this nice little man, and think of is better how to pay damages which you have caused it, - the old woman has told.
It took Jean for a hand and has pulled out it from under a table. Uvidav Jean, the Whirlwind has opened a mouth and has already prepared was to seize it and to eat, but mother a finger has specified in a bag suspended to a beam at the ceiling, and has asked:
- To you, it is visible, it would be desirable to sit in that bag?
The whirlwind has immediately calmed down. And the tailor has grown bolder and has told to it:
- Good afternoon, your grace. You have ruined me.
- How so, дружище? - Has tenderly asked the Whirlwind.
- You swept all flax which my wife has spread out for drying on a meadow.
- It is a lie, your wife the liar and the idler. But you the fair guy, the good worker and assiduously work. With such wife you, despite all your diligence, will remain a century the poor man, and I wish to remunerate you to a long way and that you trusted in my justice. Here to you the burro and when silver and gold will be necessary for you, you only spread on the earth under its most tail a white napkin and tell: "the Burro, do the duty!" And it immediately delivers you so much gold and silver, how many you will wish. But look protect it! If it at you will steal, you will become as is poor, as before.
And the Whirlwind has given to it standing in a corner of a hut of the burro, nothing differing from any lop-eared. The tailor has thanked for a generous gift, has said goodbye to the Whirlwind and its mother and has gone home accompanied by a precious animal.
Having departed on some distance from a hut, Jean has come to be among an extensive heathland. Somewhat quicker to learn, whether its burro possesses that property which to it was attributed, Jean has spread the handkerchief on the earth under its most tail and has told:
- The burro, do the duty!
At the very same time the gold and silver coins which have quickly covered a scarf fell down. Jean has filled with all of them pockets, and then continued a way, singing, laughing, dancing from pleasure and hopping, as if помешанный.
When the herd to get dark, he has decided to stay the night on an inn at the road.
To the servant to which Jean has charged the burro, he strictly ordered as it is possible to care is better of it, and the main thing - not to ask it to do the duty. Apparently, poor creature Jean was not from sharp-witted. Densely having eaten and having treated with the best wine what was on an inn, Jean has laid down in bed and has fallen asleep, not being anxious about tomorrow.
The servant has been surprised by that Jean ordered not to ask to do the duty to it of the burro, - anybody from lodgers never spoke to it of such things. "Here something is wrong", - he has thought.
This thought did not allow to the servant to fall asleep, and it has gone to share it with the owner.
When all in the house have laid down to sleep, the owner, his wife and the servant have gone to a stable. The servant has approached to the burro and has told to it:
- The burro, do the duty!
And at the very same time with a cheerful ring silver and gold coins fell down. All three could not come to the senses from amazement. Having filled pockets gold, they have changed one lop-eared for another and have locked the magic burro in a secluded closet, is far from a stable.
For other morning Jean it is tasty has had breakfast, has paid off and, having taken away the burro who to it has resulted the servant, continued a way, not guessing as it have inflated. Pockets at it were still full some gold and the silver extracted the day before and consequently to the end of a way it did not need to order to the burro to do the duty.
Возвратясь home, he has seen, that his wife and children do not die nearly of hunger. Jeanne, завидя the husband, began to shower with its abuse:
- At last you were, the severe, unscrupulous person! You are unsteady it is not known where, you leave the wife and children to starve to death! - and it threatened it with a fist.
- Become silent, the wife, - Jean easy as it is necessary to the person assured of the business has told, - you will never not suffer any more a lack of bread or of what the friend; now we will be rich, you now will be convinced of it. Remove an apron and spread it on the earth under the tail of my burro.
Jeanne has spread an apron, and Jean, not hesitating, has told:
- The burro, do the duty.
But to an apron has fallen nothing. Jean strongly to it was surprised. Thinking, that, perhaps, the burro has not caught, he in second time has told:
- The burro, do the duty!
Again anything! It in third time, is even louder former, has shouted:
- The burro, do the duty!
This time something has fallen to an apron, but that was not gold and not silver.
Seeing all it, Jeanne has decided, that the husband scoffs at it. It has shouted even more loudly, and then has seized for a stick. Poor creature Jean has escaped like mad.
Where to it was to disappear? He even plainly did not know, where at it have stolen the burro; here he also has decided to go again to the Whirlwind.
When the Whirlwind has seen the grieved Jean, he has told:
- I know, what for you have again come: you have overlooked the burro, it at you have stolen on the first inn where you have stayed the night on the way home. Now here to you a napkin. As soon as you расстелешь it on a table, and even on the naked earth, also will tell: "the Napkin, do the duty!" - she immediately will feed and will give to drink you everything that you have wished. But be on guard, that it too have not stolen.
- Be quiet, - Jean has answered, - more likely I will leave a life.
Jean has said goodbye to the Whirlwind and its mother and has again set out. When has darkened, it has stayed the night on the same inn, as for the first time. And there celebrated wedding. To it have accorded hearty welcome and have asked to sit down to table with newly married, that it has willingly made. Whether therefore, that the entertainment seemed to it poor, and perhaps and consequently, that he has wanted to brag to visitors and to pass at them for a great wise man and the magician, Jean has taken out a napkin from a pocket, has spread it on a table and is proud has told: "the Napkin, do the duty!" - at the very same time on a table there was a magnificent entertainment: refined viands what move only behind a royal table, and the most thin wines of all countries.
Made dizzy by praises and wine, Jean and has not noticed this time, how it обокрали, have dragged off at it a napkin. Morning has overtaken it in former poverty, and he again did not know, how to it to be. However now he has not dared to be to the wife with empty hands, and has decided, that for it unique rescue again to go to mother of Winds.
And here it has again gone the same road, but this time very shamed and confused.
Having seen it, the Whirlwind has told:
- Again you обокрали, the poor creature! At you have dragged off a napkin!
- Take pity over me, your grace, - the unfortunate tailor has begged, - at me the wife and children with hunger die, I cannot come back home with empty hands!
- I agree to you to help, because you the quite good person, but it last time, - the Whirlwind has answered. Then it has handed over to the tailor a bludgeon, having told thus:
- Here to you a bludgeon. It is necessary to at whom it in hands, to tell: "the Bludgeon, do the duty!" - and she will start to thrash foes of the owner tirelessly. Nothing can stop it while he to it will not tell: "it is Enough!" By means of this bludgeon you will return to yourself both a donkey and a napkin.
Jean has thanked and was started up in a way back. It has stayed the night all on the same inn. Expecting to steal at it still any treasure, owners have accorded to it the hearty welcome. Jean has invited the owner, his wife and the servant to have supper with it. By the end of a meal he has told to the bludgeon which now for a minute did not leave:
- Bludgeon, do the duty!
The bludgeon was immediately started turning in air and allow to thrash by turns the owner, the mistress and the servant. As they tried to stop it, all was vain; they got under a table, hid, where only it is possible, but the bludgeon everywhere overtook them, and the tailor laughed loudly and laughed at them.
- Spare! Take pity! - they cried out.
And Jean in the answer:
- Rightly to you, will know how to drag donkeys and napkins!
- Take pity! Spare! All of us will return to you! After all to us, that also look, the end will come!
This fun lasted about a half an hour while Jean has not ordered:
- There is enough!
Then the bludgeon has calmed down, and Jean has come back home with a donkey, a napkin and a bludgeon.
If he has managed them to save up, likely, lives in clover. And I more about it have heard since then nothing.
