Fairy tale about Хуткунчуле

Lived there is no time nine brothers, neither the father at them, nor mother. They lived poorly-prebedno, in a tatter, and in a hovel at them is empty— neither to fire what to burn, nor to a flood to carry away. Brothers have gone to be employed in farm laborers.

Long they went— to anybody workers are not necessary.

Brothers have got tired, have sat down at road.

There is on road an old woman, bears a jug with cold water. Has run up to it younger of brothers— Хуткунчула— and asks:

— Allow to us to get drunk, the grandmother, for the sake of your children!

It has substituted a leather mug-mataru, and the old woman of water has poured to it. Хуткунчула at first to brothers has allowed to enjoy, then itself has got drunk.

— Who you such similar all against each other? Where a way hold?— The old woman asks.

— We brothers, the grandmother, go a bread piece to extract!

Perhaps you know, whether workers are necessary to whom?

— Go all directly yes directly. Through the river will pass, to дэву will get. Speak, shepherds are necessary to it.

Brothers directly have gone. By the evening have reached the river. The river wide, deep, and the bridge through the river narrow, shabby. Brothers have passed the bridge and have got to possession дэва.

As has caught sight of them дэв, has towards hastened. He purposely spoke, as if for workers searches,— enticed to itself people. Will come to it to be employed in shepherds, and he— whom alive will eat, whom on a spit will fry.

Has fed дэв brothers with a supper, has put to bed and itself has settled. Lays дэв, does not sleep— waits, when brothers will fall asleep, wishes sleeping to interrupt. The brothers have fallen asleep, one Хуткунчула does not sleep, for дэвом watches.

— Who sleeps, to whom is not slept?— Asks дэв.

— To me it is not slept!— Answers Хуткунчула.

— And that to you it is not slept?

— Your geese guffaw, to sleep do not give.

Has gone дэв, has swallowed all geese. Has waited a little and again asks:

— Who sleeps, to whom is not slept?

— To me it is not slept!— Answers Хуткунчула.

— And that to you it is not slept?

— Your cows low, to sleep to me do not give.

Has gone дэв, has swallowed cows. Has waited a little and in third time asks:

— Who sleeps, to whom is not slept?

— To me it is not slept!— Speaks Хуткунчула.

— That to you it is not slept?— Asks дэв, and itself a teeth gnashes for a rage.

— Your horses neigh, to sleep to me do not give.

Only left дэв in a court yard, Хуткунчула has woken brothers and speaks:

— We run from here somewhat quicker. Дэв us to eat wants.

There were brothers, have put on and have silently got out in a court yard.

Have hidden there behind trees and wait, while дэв into the house will enter.

Has swallowed дэв horses and has returned to the house. Has crept Хуткунчула and has locked a door on a latch.

Brothers to the bridge have run and hear, after them the goat shouts:

— Brothers escape, escape!

Has seized Хуткунчула a goat and has rushed off carelessly.

Has heard дэв as the goat shouts, has rushed to bed— there are no brothers! Has rushed to a door— cannot open! Began to break out a door— in any way will not break out! At last has broken out and has pursued brothers.

Runs Хуткунчула. Catches up with it дэв, just about will overtake.

Has run across Хуткунчула the bridge and has stopped— knows, not to step enormous дэву into the very narrow shabby bridge.

— Has run away, the wretch!— Shouts дэв.

— And that is not present, the gawk!— Laughs loudly Хуткунчула.

Brothers have gone further, they have come to a city and were employed by grooms on an imperial stable.

Will clean Хуткунчула horses, and then plays with a goat. The entertaining goat— humanly answers all questions!

The tsar as Хуткунчула to a goat talks has heard, to the ears has not believed. He at the younger groom has ordered to select a goat. Has run Хуткунчула after the vizier to the tsar and speaks to it:

— What for to you a goat, a sovereign? You after all not the muzhik! Return me a goat, I to you from the house дэва will bring a carpet.

— Extract at first a carpet, and there I will have a look, can, and I will give a goat,— the tsar answers.

Has gone Хуткунчула to дэву. Has hidden in a court yard and waits, when that on hunting will leave. Only has left дэв, has made the way Хуткунчула through a window in the house.

There was at дэва on an ottoman a beautiful fluffy carpet. Хуткунчула утыкал needles all carpet also has again hidden in a court yard.

Has returned дэв, has fallen to have a rest on a carpet and has jumped up from a pain. Has changed on other place and it was again pinned. Where will sit down— everywhere it is pricked. Has grown furious дэв, has seized a carpet and has thrown in a window. And Хуткунчула here as here! Has picked up a carpet and run to the bridge.

Has seen дэв Хуткунчулу and shouts:

— Ah you, a devil's hoof, have again played with me a joke?

Has pursued дэв the boy, yes has not had time to catch— has run across Хуткунчула the bridge.

— Has run away, the wretch!— Shouts дэв.

— And that is not present, the gawk!— Laughs loudly Хуткунчула.

The boy in a palace has come running, has brought a carpet. Has very much liked I reign a carpet, but it Hutkun-chule has not returned a goat, has presented only with a felt cap.

Enviably became brothers: at Хуткунчулы a cap new, and at them old, fragmentary. Here brothers also speak to the tsar:

— At дэва many strange things. Хуткунчула dexterous, order to it to bring still something.

— Do not trust them, a sovereign,— speaks Хуткунчула,— anything at дэва is not present more.

Tsar Hutkunchulu does not listen. Orders to bring all treasures what are at дэва.

— Well, a sovereign,— speaks Хуткунчула.— I will lay all treasures in a chest and I will drag here.

Dress only me the master имеретином and give плотничьи tools.

Has dressed up Хуткунчула имеретином, took a saw, a plane, a chisel, an axe, boards and has started on a journey. It has reached possession дэва and goes on wood. Went Хуткунчула, went, yet has not met дэва.

— Aha, has got Хуткунчула!— Shouts дэв mischievously.

— That you what I Хуткунчула, be gone it пропадом!— Speaks Хуткунчула.— Because of it the tsar hardly to me has not taken down a head! I promised to make I reign a chest which will fly and for ever will not collapse.

The tsar has got into it, and the chest has collapsed! Паршивец Хуткунчула all nails повытаскивал! Get it to me, the wretch, there and then I will strangle!

— Listen, make also to me a chest, I will catch Хуткунчулу, I will set in it,— asks дэв.

Хуткунчула has hammered together a chest and speaks дэву:

— Well, полезай, we will check up, whether strong it has turned out.

Has got silly дэв into a chest, has kicked a wall, has knocked on a bottom— it is hammered strong together.

— And now sit down,— speaks Хуткунчула.— I will close a chest, we will look, whether you will manage to break out a cover a head.

Silly дэв has sat down, and the boy has driven in a cover nails and speaks:

— Do not grieve, do not grieve, прокачу you to the tsar!

— Again you have spent me, Хуткунчула?— Has begun to roar дэв.

— And you as thought, the gawk!— Laughs loudly Хуткунчула.

Tsar Hutkunchulu waits, it would be necessary for it to look, what treasures will be brought by the younger groom.

Here has appeared Хуткунчула, has driven a chest directly to a palace. Have surrounded a chest the tsar and it nazir-vi-ziri. And Хуткунчула took in the meantime the enormous piece of stone salt and has climbed on a high plane tree that grew in a court yard. Sits above and waits, what will be a fun.

The tsar has opened a chest, and therefrom as will jump out enraged дэв! It has attacked on the tsar and viziers, has sent them in the glutton!

Began then дэв to search Хуткунчулу. Hears, he laughs somewhere above. Has lifted up a head дэв and— the boy on the top of a tree sees— sits, overstrains with laughter.

— Listen, Хуткунчула how you have got so highly?— Is surprised дэв.

— Very simply. Has laid down under a tree, has put to itself on a breast here this block of salt— you see, at me in hands— and has flied up!

— And me how to get on a tree?

— Lay down under a tree. I will dump salt. You will put it on a breast and will fly up here.

Has sprawled silly дэв under a tree. Has dumped Хуткунчула the big piece of salt on it and has punched through.

On that and a fairy tale the end.
