Two Of Us History

Rich Hodgkins and John Menta had been performing together in various groups since 1967. Ken Rieske played bass and keyboards with John in the Blake Street Gut Band.

In 1977, Ken joined Rich and John and performed live for the first time at
The Theater and The Space on Orange Street in New Haven. With Ken adding bass guitar and vocals, the very popular group SUNDANCE was born.

SUNDANCE played in bars and clubs throughout Connecticut including the Greenery, Toads Place, The Purple Tree as well as Captain Nicks on Block Island.

By 1982 SUNDANCE had added a drummer Mark Cerrone.
In 1982 Rich left SUNDANCE. John's sister, Anne Marie Menta replaced Rich and SUNDANCE became the Wanderers.

The Wanderers played together until 1985.

After the Wanderers broke up, Ken concentrated on Song writing.

In 1991 Rich came out of retirement and joined with Bill Agostinelli to form Autumn and West first a duo playing bars and coffee houses and added Sonny Santoro, a bass player. Autumn and West had steady gigs at the Greenery, Christopher Martins, the Hungry Tiger and the Thimble Island Cafe. They opened for Brewer and Shipley
Autumn and West broke up in 1994 and Rich went back into retirement again.

In 2001, Rich asked Ken to join him at Brewed Awakenings in Hamden. This was so much fun they decided to form Two Of Us.
