John William Hutchinson b. 1843 d. 1921 (?) |
My Great Grandfather is John William Hutchinson. He served as Lt in 17th NY Cavalry in the Union forces during Civil War. He fought at Gettysburg and returned to live in the greater New York City area after that. He married Elizabeth Dutton of Waterford, VA in 1866. They are the subject of some interesting stories around the Waterford area during the war. He had 6 sons, (including Barcley Hite Hutchinson, my grandfather, who lived in the Oranges of NJ in the early 1900's, then moved to Chatham, NJ. and died there about 1935.) My grandfather, Barcley Hite Hutchinson, married Elsie Maguerite Bahler, and they had 5 sons -Martin, John, MacDonald, Roy and Alan.
