Hutchinson DNA Project

Robert / Robinson Hutchison

b: Abt. 1827 in Newcastle, Northumberland, Scotland

d: Abt. 1870 in Banff, Aberdeenshire, Scotland

I've run into something of a dead end as regards my Hutchison genealogy, and am willing to explore just about any potential avenue to find out more about my ancestors.

My great-grandfather was Patrick Hutchison (pearl fisherman), born Peterhead, Aberdeenshire in 1896 and died in Banff, Aberdeenshire in 1981.

My great-great-grandfather was William Hutchison (salesman), born c. 1864 near Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, died in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire in 1896.

My great-great-great grandfather was Robert/Robinson Hutchison (basketmaker), born c. 1827 in Newcastle, Northumberland, died in Banff, Aberdeenshire, c. 1870. He used both names, as he seems to have been a bigamist, and would alternate names depending on which wife he was seeing, haha.

There are currently two potential candidates to be Robert / Robinson's father.
One is James Hutchison (basketmaker), and the other is Stephen Hutchison (glass maker). I don't have dates for either of these individuals unfortunately. I can't be sure if either of these are accurate though.
