Thomas Hutchinson, the "Proprietor," from New Jersey and
John Hutchinson's line from Falls Township, Bucks County, PA.
Described below is what are presently known as two distinct lines - one in PA and one in NJ - that claim relationship to Thomas Hutchinson, "The Proprietor" of Hutchinson Manor, in what was then in 1680's known as Hopewell Township, Burlington Co, New Jersey but is now Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey. He is buried on the grounds of the NJ State Mental Hospital, in Trenton, NJ.
Thomas's son John, had one known male descendant, Isaac Hutchinson, born circa 1702, who was still in the Trenton area as of 1740 and who died after April 1750.
And John Hutchinson's line from Falls Township, Bucks County, PA.
Here are some of the facts on the lines for which Hutchinson male descendants are needed:

Thomas Hutchinson, b 1640, Beverly, County of Yorkshire, England, a Quaker. He married on 29 March 1668, Dorothy Storr, b. 1647 in Oustwick, County of Yorkshire, England. They immigrated to America and are found in Talbot County, Maryland, in 1683, where he is described as a tanner. They then relocated into New Jersey as of 1687, when he and several others from England became associated with William Penn. Due to debts incurred by Penn, they were given one 10th of New Jersey, called the Yorkshire Tenth, which was located in what is today known as Burlington Co and Mercer County, New Jersey. They also became known as the Proprietors of the Yorkshire Tenth. Thomas Hutchinson became known as Thomas Hutchinson, the "Proprietor" and was always identified as same in New Jersey land records.
Thomas obtained from this Yorkshire Tenth, 2,000 acres along the Delaware River in New Jersey, in what was then in 1687 Hopewell Township, Burlington County, New Jersey, but is today Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey. His estate and home became known as "Hutchinson Manor." His known children were: Ebenezer, b. 10 June 1670, Thomas - b. 10 Feb 1672, John - b. 29 August 1674, Dorothy, and Hannah. He died in New Jersey intestate and George Hutchison/Hutcheson, the largest landholding "Proprietor" of the Yorkshire Tenth partners, who was himself from Sheffield, England, was the Administrator of Thomas's estate & he left an Inventory of it, dated 10 December 1689.
Directly across the Delaware River from "Hutchinson Manor," in Falls Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, was another extensive Hutchinson line, whose descendants claim they descend from Thomas Hutchinson, the "Proprietor," of "Hutchinson Manor." Many of them stayed in PA while others went West and others came back into New Jersey.
The progenitor of the Bucks County Hutchinson line was John Hutchinson, who married Phebe Kirkbride, b. 7 January 1689, in Bucks Co, PA. John died abt. November 1745, in Falls Township, Bucks Co, PA. They had several known children - John, Joshua, Thomas, Michael, Randall, Nehemiah & Hannah.

If we can find some male descendants from these two lines, we will possibly make some serious NJ history due to the important roles Thomas & George played in NJ land history. We would like to find some male Hutchinson descendants from both lines; i.e Thomas, the "Proprietor," from New Jersey and John Hutchinson's line from Falls Township, Bucks County, PA.

Richard and Col. John Hutchinson appear to be descendants of Thomas Hutchinson, b. 1498. This is referred to as the Hutchinson House of Owthorpe. In order to confirm this the Hutchinson DNA Project is seeking male descendants of Thomas Hutchinson, b. 1498 other than from Richard Hutchinson, b. 1602 of Salem, MA.
