The reunion was a great success! Everyone came and had a good time. It was mentioned to me by more than one person that they wondered if they would like everyone, but then when we all got together, everyone was very comfortable together. This is certainly the target I was aiming for, and I'm glad we got it.

I thought things would work out well, but I was amazed at how well. With all the trouble we've had through the years, and some of the obvious reasons we live so far apart, when we got together, I could see that we actually are still a family in more than just demographics. I think Lynn said it best when he said that (to paraphrase) in all these years past, he didn't feel like he had a family, but now he does. To me, that's a great endorsement of all of us.

I also want to thank everyone who helped out. Doing this was a lot of work and I could not have done it all alone. Every time I needed it, someone was there to volunteer to help out or they just took care of things for me. You al should thank Carol for helping with the cooking. She is the better cook of the two of us and if she made your food, then yours was better than any I made for anyone else. Thanks to Terri for providing a mattress and bedding for the spare bedroom and for hosting, too.

I really enjoyed seeing everyone again. I'm sure we had all forgotten what a character Lynn is. It made seeing him after so many years that much better. It was great to meet Kristi for what really amounted to the first time. She really is a sweetheart and she took such good care of Lynn while they were out here. I really don't know what Lynn would do without his family.

We really need to make individual commitments to keep in touch with each other and to visit whenever possible. I know there are other things to do with vacation time and there is no reason not to do them, but we should increase our family priorities higher than they have been.

I'm going to try to get out to visit those of you I haven't been to for a long time. I'm not sure about this fall or winter, but maybe in the spring.

I plan to publish and maintain a list of contact information here for us to use. I need to figure out a way to protect the information from others. Right now my option is to provide each of you with a link to a hidden web page by email. What do you think?

Hugh says "Tanks" for the reunion.
