[S202] A deposition was taken from James E. Barrett on his father, John's death for Widow's Pension for Mary Parriss Barrott. James remembered the date as it was a particularily cold Spring. His father was found on the road to Richmond. John Barrott had served during the War of 1812 and received a Land Grant before his death. Mary never received her Widow's Pension because his signatures did not match. John was not literate and someone else had to sign his name. Mary probably died before a final decision was reached.
