Why Rich is Running for State Representative:

During his 20 years of service in the Navy, Rich always looked forward to returning home to Oregon because of the unique quality of life Oregon has to offer. Protecting that quality of life for future generations is important to Rich. That's why he's running for Oregon State House of Representatives. When elected, Rich will represent District 20, which includes Downtown Salem, some of South Salem, West Salem, Independence, and Monmouth.

Richard Riggs: Focusing on Our Priorities

Health Care

Rich will work to improve access and affordability for all Oregonians. Today one in six Oregonians don’t have healthcare– that’s 600,000 people– it’s a crisis we can no longer ignore.

Education

Rich will work for stable and adequate school funding, and get the money into the classroom for smaller class sizes, better training and retention of our teachers, updated computers and textbooks and more vocational and technical training in our community colleges and high schools.

Tax Fairness

Rich thinks working class Oregonians shouldn’t pay for tax loopholes that benefit special interests, and that the 77 year old, $10 corporate minimum tax – which two thirds of Oregon’s corporations pay– hurts Oregonians.

Accountability

Rich wants to hold the government accountable for your tax dollars, reduce waste and inefficiencies and improve services provided to Oregonians.

Smart Growth

Rich is a Native Oregonian and lifelong outdoorsman, and he will fight to protect our environment, preserve open spaces, and repair our existing roads and highways. Let's leave a better Oregon to our children.

This November vote for leadership, integrity, and accountability. Vote Richard Riggs for HD20.
