The Sayer Protocol for Successful Weight Management
I DID IT! On January 14,
2010, I weighed in at 164.5 lbs., and my BMI is 21.7! HOORAY!
Now, the weight maintenance part of my program begins, with exercising
to buff up and to shed what
remains of the belly fat that I used to schlepp around with me.
This plan was the cornerstone of a self-developed and self-guided
program
that enabled me to lose over 60 pounds - over 25% of my body mass
- in 25 months.

here to see a chart of my progress.
I am no longer obese, and no longer overweight! I'm now in the optimum
weight range!
*****
At the beginnig of January of 2008, my waist measured 44.75".
At the end of April, 2010, my waist measured 34.5", a 23% decrease in
waist size!.
*****
I have registered as a member of the National Weight Control Registry!
As of November, 2010, I have been a registered NWCR member for 1 year. At the 1 year mark,
I weigh almost exactly what I weighed a year ago!

Combined
with a regimen that
includes
the
5 top cholesterol-lowering "superfoods",
I was able to lower
my LDL (bad) cholesterol level by about 28%,
my total cholesterol
by over 20%,
and my triglicerides by 30%
during
the initial 40 weeks of this program -
all via nutritional
management - without drugs!
***
At the completion of the weight loss phase of my program, Jan. 2010,
my LDL (bad) cholesterol still hovers around 24% less, and
my total
cholesterol remains at 20% less than
what it was
when I started 2 years ago.
As of Jan 2010, my triglicerides are a whopping 40% less than 2 years ago.

My doctor recommend in early 2010 that I take 800-1000 mg per day of over-the-counter
plant sterol
supplements and 1000 mg per day of flush-free Niacin to improve even more.
As of May 2011, relative to late 2007, the
*Sayer Protocol for Successful Weight Management*,
along with these most recent recommendations from my internist
have provided me with the following results:
>total cholesterol lowered by over 13%<
>LDL cholesterol lowered by over 17%<
>HDL cholesterol increased by over 22%<
>total cholesterol/HDL ratio improved by nearly 30%<
>LDL/HDL ratio improved by over 32%<
>Triglycerides lowered by over 51%<
>Body weight lowered by over 25%<

This plan has helped me to establish new eating habits.
Therefore, I don't anticipate any relapse.
Unlike many diets that suggest a reduction in the amount of food eaten
daily,
or drastic reductions of certain food types - prompting bouts
of starvation -
I didn't
have to change how much I ate. I made no drastic changes to my meal
plans.
I still eat the same total volume/mass of foods daily,
but I now concentrate on great foods that have more protein, fiber,
vitamins and minerals,
but with fewer Calories. I never felt hungry, and I never had a serious
cravings.
I am now quite a bit more selective about the foods that I eat, but I
still eat a wide variety of great foods.
*****
Think of the savings to our society if everyone were to be able to use
such a simple diet plan to bring their
weight down to within the "normal" range: lower overall hospital and
health insurance costs,
less need for diet and cholesterol-related drug therapies, and fewer
heart problems - wow!
