SCOPE NOTE: The resources listed here primarily concern the study of legal information systems, sometimes called “legal informatics,” a research area within the disciplines of information science and computer science. See the Definitions section of this Website. Exceptions are the lists of digital libraries, institutional and scholarly repositories, and data sets. The lists of digital libraries and institutional and scholarly repositories consist primarily of collections of legal documents organized for search and retrieval. The list of data sets consists of collections of legal documents or other data intended for download, use, and analysis by researchers. Please note that outside of the United States, the term “legal informatics” sometimes refers to the study of the law governing information or information technology and of the effects of technology on legal doctrine; resources on those topics are not listed here. |
