MY Old House Page

Welcome to My Old House

Above is a picture of my old house, in Pittsburgh, PA. It was built circa 1902-03 out of Roman brick. I think of it as a foursquare with Craftsman influences, although it was recently described as a Romantic Revival Neo-classical Mediterranean Villa by John Crosby Freeman (The Color Doctor). Much of the house remains authentic - original glass, leaded and stained-glass windows, six fireplaces, and original hardware. I'm in the process of restoring it back to how it might have looked at the beginning of the century. I have been doing most of the work myself, with help from an occasional renovator. It's a slow process, but a labor of love. I will update the site with more descriptions and pictures as work progresses.

Below is a close up of some of the exterior detail.
