MY BEDROOM
My bedroom was the only one of the 4 on the second floor where the woodwork was
still the original faux wood finish (it has darkened considerably). The walls had an old (perhaps original)
wallpaper, that had been painted over several times, and had wooden molding attached. The walls were yellow,
and that covered a coat of blood red paint. Can you imagine sleeping in here with red walls? Here are some
"before" pictures. The fireplace is very mission in feel. There is a bay window that mirrors the one in
the dining room below.

Here's a closeup of the wall, with the molding off, showing the dark red paint under
the yellow. A bit of old wallpaper is visible at the top. There was another more
grasscloth-like paper over that. Next is a picture with the paper off, the paste still
on the walls, and large cracks on the wall and in the corners. Followng that you can
see where I've starting patching the plaster.
The walls and ceiling painted, I started stencilling around the upper part of the walls.
First doing the green color, then going back to do the cranberry color.
Here are the after pictures. I still need to stencil around the ceiling fan and put up pictures
and other decorations.
