(Pencil Holder, Three-Ring Notebook, Desk Blotter)




EASY: Achievable by anyone



PENCIL HOLDER:
Cover a soup can with batting.
Cut a strip of fabric 2" wider than the height of the can and 1" longer than the circumference.
Wrap it around the can, turning 1" to the outside bottom and 1" to the inside top.
Turn under the final raw edge and slipstitch the vertical seam.
Glue a paper circle to the outside bottom over the raw edges.
Glue the paper to the inside of the can, edges flush.



THREE-RING NOTEBOOK:
Trace an open notebook on the wrong side of the cloth.
Cut it 1" outside the traced lines.
Spread batting over the outside of the book cover.
Spread fabric on top; turn the edges to the inside cover, clipping at the spine and glue.
Glue paper to each inside cover.



DESK BLOTTER:
From illustration board, cut one 17" x 22" and two 17" x 3 1/2" pieces.
Center the larger board over the wrong side of 20" x 25" fabric; fold the raw edges over the board and glue.
Place batting over one side of the 2 small boards and cover with fabric that is cut 2" larger (all around) than the board.
At one long (inside) edge of each board, turn 1" of fabric to the wrong side and glue.
Turn the other 3 sides to the wrong side of the blotter and glue.
Glue paper over the wrong side of the blotter.
