![]() AVERAGE: For those with some experience in sewing. ![]() 1/4 yd. each of 44"-wide fabric for frame front and frame back white glue ![]() Cut one cardboard ovel for the back. Cut another for the front, with its center cutaway at the broken line. 2. Cut 2 fabric strips, each 4" x 42", and seam together at one end. Fold the strip in half, right sides together, and stitch 1/4" from the raw edge. Turn the right side out. 3. Slash through the frame front at the lower center. Slide the fabric tube over the frame, with the seam in back. Tape the cut ends of the cardboard together again. Turn under one fabric end and slipstitch it over the other raw end. 4. FRAME BACK: Trace that cardboard oval to the fabric and cut out. Trace again and cut out 1" outside the traced line. Center the cardboard on the wrong side of the larger fabric oval; turn the fabric edges over the cardboard and glue. Glue the smaller fabric oval on top. 5. Glue the frame front over the frame back, right side out, leaving open one end to insert the photo. 6. EASEL: Cut a 2 1/2" x 6 1/2" pieces of cardboard; trim the long (side) edges to 1" wide at the top. Score across the easel 1" from the top. Cover it with fabric and glue the top inch to the frame back so it sets well. ![]() EASY: Achievable by anyone. ![]() 12" x 14" fabric 12" square of batting 8" x 11" firm cardboard 1/4 yd. fabric for frame back. ![]() Stretch the batting on top; fold and tape the edge to the back of the frame. From the center, cut the batting diagonally toward each inside corner; turn each triangle of batting to the frame back; trim and tape. 2. FRAME FRONT: Cut an 11" square from the 12" x 14" fabric. Cut the 2" strips remaining into four 3"-long pieces. Fold one 3+ piece over each inside corner of the frame, clipping from the ends toward the center in order to smooth the fabric against the inside edge. Tape to the batting. Pin the 12"-square fabric (centered) on top and tape the edge to the frame back, as you did in Step1. Fold cord or ribbon over the corners and tape the ends over the back. 3. FRAME BACK: Fold a 9" x 20" piece of fabric over an 8"-square cardboard; turn in the edges and glue. 4. EASEL: See Steps 5 and 6 for Gathered Frame.
