DIRECTIONS:
1. Wrap a layer or two of batting around the wooden part of the hanger and tape to fasten. Stitch the ends closed.
2. Make a 1" x 17"-wide muslin pocket for the "Love My Carpet" powder. Attach the muslin pouch to the underside of the hanger. Wrap another layer of batting over it and secure.
3. Stitch the raw ends of batting together, making sure the batting is secure on the hanger and will not shift when inserted into the fabric covering.
4. Cut 2 pieces of 11" x 5" fabric and one 22" x 5" piece. Stitch one basting line along each 22" side. Gather the sides to measure 11". With the right sides together, stitch one gathered piece of material to one ungathered piece of material, leaving one 5" side unstitched. Clip the corners. Repeat for the 2 remaining pieces of fabric. Turn both pieces right side out.
5. Slip one fabric tube on each side of the hanger. Turn the raw edges under so that the edges of the tubes just meet. Tack the fabric together at the top and bottom of the hanger.
6. Using the 1/4"-wide ribbon, tape one end to the tip of the wire hook and wrap, covering the metal completely. Slipstitch the end of the ribbon tot he fabric of the hanger. Fold the 1/2"-wide ribbon in half and place the fold around the base of the wire hook. Wrap the ribbon around the hanger in 2 parallel bands, returning to the starting point. Wrap the 2 ends around the wire hook, crisscrossing them behind the hook and returning them to the front of the hook.
7. Tie a bow and stitch to fasten.
