Fillingers Meet 2005
Hello
again from the Michiana Outboard Boating Chapter. We started off the 2005 calendar with our
first meet of 2005 at Stuart Fillinger’s Marine Center. The January 22nd event was held
inside of the Fillinger Marine service bays.
The meet started at 10:00am in Monticello, Indiana. The shop was heated and all the displays and
items for sale were placed inside so no one had to be outside. Tables and
chairs were set up in the shop area for everyone to sit and chat. About 50 members came from all over the area
to start off 2005. Alan Nacke had a
memorial display of Martin motors and pictures of the late George Martin. Dave Tranter had his display of literature
and magazines for sale. Greg and Lori Schmidt
had their display of MOB sweatshirts, tee shirts and hats for sale. Stuart Fillinger had a rack of green tank
Mercury Motors. There was a large area
for motors for sale and a few motors found new homes. There were two computers showing pictures of
last years AOMCI events and one video TV set up showing outboard
activities. Lunch was provided by the
MOB and door prizes were awarded. Alan
Nacke and his crew cooked lunch and this year’s cuisine was pork
tenderloins. A big “Thank You” goes out
to Alan and his crew for cooking and serving all the delicious food. There was a 50-50 drawing and three gifts of
cash were given out to members. The
coveted MOB plaques were given out for the display of motors. After the lunch, the business meeting was held
and Jay Walls reported on the upcoming Constantine Super Meet agenda. Around 3:00pm, the meet started to wind down
and everyone started to pack up to head home.
Next on the MOB agenda is the March 19th meet in Milford,
Indiana.
