Galveston Meet 2007
February 17, 2007
For the first time in many
years, Mother Nature was not cooperating with the weather. Indiana was
hit with a snow storm the night before the Galveston Indiana
meet. Galveston is located just north of
Kokomo, Indiana and just south of that line about 6 inches of new snow was
deposited on the ground in addition to the 12 inches already laying on the
ground in some parts of the state. This
new snow prevented quite a few MOB’sters from attending the second meet of
2007. Only about 14 brave souls came out
and made the trip to the Community Center in the heart of Galveston.
There were a few motors on display and Dave Tranter set up his
literature display for the few fellows who braved the elements. Dean Chapman gave a lecture on the art of making
your own decals. He gave a demonstration
on applying the decals on a Martin tank.
Terry Aeschliman brought out
the chili for the members and there was plenty left over. Ken Morse
took over as the spokesman for the chapter and discussed some topics pertaining
to Constantine. Other topics were tabled until the next meet
at the Appenzeller Restoration Shop in Milford
Indiana next month. This writer didn’t attend due to the
inclement weather.
