A brief Discussion:
The "P"!!! R-v3 designation offers significant and important improvements over the previous "P"!!!. The R-v3 designation introduces an improved surface treatment and finish to the bare conductors and an "In House" tight tolerance build technique where we have completely eliminated any tension and stress applied to the conductors during the entire build process. These are RSAD exclusives and the benefits of R-v3 designation are not inconsequential.
The new surface treatment and finish features a high definition, literal mirror finish that is microscopically contaminant free that can't be approached with mass produced wire. We do this one conductor at a time - the only way. All other tight tolerance build techniques cause the conductors to be pulled and stretched to some degree. This is not good.
While I appreciate the need for cabling to sometimes perform tuning duties, it's not something I particularly want from a cable. In our experience, it creates at least as many problems as it solves. We've always endeavored to produce cabling that offers the least editorial possible. Then, we believe we can appreciate our room tuning efforts and the virtues of our electronics and loudspeakers. The "P"!!! AC Power Delivery Cord is no exception to our premise and I'll go so far to say that, based on our auditioning, the "P"!!! is the first P/C I've encountered that serves as a right foundation for system componentery and the cabling system. Get the AC delivery "right" to your electronics and suddenly your system's in a whole new playing field. Other P/Cs do "this", "that", "these" or "those". The "P"!!! simply allows what your electronics need to perform as intended - efficiently and optimally. What makes the "P"!!! able to facilitate this? The key ingredient to the "P"!!!'s performance is it's Power Correction topology. Simply put, Power Correction addresses power factor issues where, to one degree or another, there is an undesirable "lag" if you will between voltage and current as it gets delivered to your gear. Virtually all power cords we're aware of promote a suboptimal relationship between the voltage and current. It's this suboptimal relationship that accounts for most of the differences heard from one P/C compared to another. Because all our cabling is fabricated In-House, we are able to design beyond what is available from higher production manufacturing houses. As a matter of fact, with what and how we build the "P"!!! AC cords, they cannot be produced in such a facility. Choice build materials, conductors with redistributed and optimized surface area and build technique allows us to craft a cable whose electrical and mechanical properties are suited almost perfectly for what a given power supply demands. This is no small issue. Of note, all our amps we use here, solid state or tube, are Class A designs through their rated output. That means they run hot. With the "P"!!! AC Power Delivery Cords installed, the amps actually run cooler! That means the amps are running more efficiently and wasting less power. Considering that the music you listen to is basically your gear's power supply being modulated, the "less waste" and better efficiency is definitely heard in the music. The "P"!!! cord will serve as a meaningful foundation for your electronics and cabling system. They are on par with a significant upgrade to any signal carrying cables and some will say as substantial as an electronic component upgrade...I wouldn't disagree. When auditioning the cords with our reference music, we were many times startled to discover content that was previously buried. Things like the low rumble of a truck going by that having now heard it, I first thought it was from outside only to discover that no, it was in the recording! A recording engineer apparently fumbling with a mic cable during the recording. Little things that happen on and not too far off stage that I had heard previously to a lesser extent but now, rather just "hear" them, they contributed appropriately to paint a meaningful and defined image. We will tell you that a power cord that's designed properly should not merely offer a difference or an improvement...an editorial function. It should provide a power delivery foundation so your system componentery and cabling is allowed to fully communicate their intended virtues...a Power Correction function. "P "3 R-v 3

Hello Robert! Sometimes it is difficult to express how different things affect our lives. Most things fall by the wayside as others may not be interested in the same things that we may enjoy. My audiophile friends know how many power cords I have tried and owned in both of my stereo systems. They know that I am virtually a fanatic power cord auditioner. I have listened to around 20 p/c's and for the most part, enjoyed the enhancements they rendered. My RSAD P3 power cord was installed in my office system line conditioner. I wanted to use the interconnect in my main system as to compare the new cords independently rather than together. After listening to the power cord after 70 plus hours of break in, I am almost speechless as to the enhancements it has made. I have to state that the P3 p/cord just "may" have made the most significant improvement in my system that any component, cord or interconnect I've ever listened to. The sound is "exact". There is no veil, there is no smear, there is no blended soundstage. There is nothing but the utmost truth in sound reproduction. As I've told you before, I love live music. Well...I'm there, literally. I'm losing a great amount of sleep as of late listening to powerful, defined bass reproduction, absolute pinpoint placement of each instrument (truly MUCH more-so than anything I've every heard). Soundstage that extends well outside the speakers placement. The background is SOOO quiet that I now hear very low level information contained in all sources played. Robert.. I'm really excited ! Thank you so much for making these outstanding cables. Note that I installed the P3 interconnects between my amp and preamp....taking out Stealth Indras. The P3's have shown me that the Indra's are somewhat coloured and restrictive. I was greatly surprised to realize their superiority is as significant as it is. Michael Borders And, as posted by Michael on AudiogoN . . . . Ohhh yes they are worth it. I've experimented with power cords for a number of years. I have recently purchased a Poiema 3 power cord from Ridge Street Audio. I found this cord to have made the most significant improvement in sound reproduction of ANY component, interconnect, speaker cable, speaker or power cord that has ever been in my system. I am so impressed by it's performance that I am in the process of writing a review on it. Like live music? This cord gives it to you. Like the utmost in details? This cord gives it to you. Like thundering, precisely defined bass? Ditto. Robert (the manufacturer) is a genius. I truly cannot say enough good things about his products. Wow! All I can say is Robert's power cord is out of this world. No matter how much I tried to hold onto my old idea (effective immediately), there is a huge difference with the right PC. Yeah! I know you guys know that already. I'm a very slow and tight with my $$$$ learner. As always I don't know the universal language for describing what I hear. (Someone ought to write that book someday) As of now I think most have different meanings. The difference was "HUGE". Alex (ed. of APL HiFi) had told me they were "magic". We all know when Alex uses that term, it is big. When I listened to some of my reference recordings the first thing I heard was the whole harmonic structure of notes having more extensions (not artificial). The notes of the music did not run out of legs. It held it's beauty. The bass became very tightened up and very quick. More air under the notes and increased blackness. These observations after short time out of the box to settle w/my system. This was Robert's Poiema !! PC. I will post again when I try the Poiema !!! which I have as well. Compared to what prices I have seen and know some of my audio buddies to have payed, this has got to be a cheap "HUGE" upgrade. Tom Huffstutler And THIS , a prelude to the above commentary. As posted on APL HiFi Forums . . . . I thought I'd post my impressions of a Ridge Street Audio Poiema!!! power cord Bob recently sent to me. I compared the cord to a Purist Audio Dominus w/fluid on my APL 3910. The Poiema!!! has excellent tonal balance and accuracy across the frequency range. While the Dominus slightly shifts the tonal balance toward the midrange and upper bass (to my ears, at least), the Poiema!!! plays no favorites...preferring to remain neutral. Both cords convey an equally large soundstage. The Poiema!!! may show a bit more HF detail and air, although this may be due more to its overall neutrality compared to the Dominus' emphasis of the mids. Bass with the Poiema!!! is tight and controlled, whereas the Dominus creates some bloom...nothing over the top, just a flavoring. The Poiema!!! is distilled water whereas the Dominus is mineral water. Which do you prefer? If you're looking for an excellent, quiet and neutral power cord, the Poiema!!! should be at or near the top of your list. System: Grant Johnson And, this posted by Grant on AudiogoN . . . . ...So, last night I connected a Ridge Street Audio Poiema!!! power cord to the (ed. Modwright) SWL9.0SE. The results were amazing. Truly amazing. I'm not given to hype and exaggerated claims when it comes to equipment or tweaks. I believe in the benefits of upgraded power cords and interconnects, but the improvements on my scale are usually in the range of a 5%-10%, and I consider a 10% improvement revolutionary. Well, the Ridge Street Poiema!!! power cord was responsible for a 20%-25% improvement in the performance of the Modwright preamp in my system. The congestion disappeared, and the highs, which were crisp and nicely defined with the Volex power cord, suddenly became alive and real. This was an improvement which I believe would be obvious to anyone if they tried it themselves. As always, we would like to say Thank You! to all our patrons and friends who are using our cabling and for the feedback you've given. Your comments and comparisons to some of the world's finest audio cables are beyond what we could have imagined! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
