The Reference....It's where you gotta go when what's right and what's wrong matters.
It's what the LuminEssence series
RSAI ReferenceI MkII Iby
Ridge Street Audio Designs is all about.

Music that lights the passion requires something special. From the 22 gauge Extended Lab Grade™ silver conductors, CordLESS Cable™ materails and construction process, to the modified Eichmann Blullet Plug® RCA connectors, the meticulously handcrafted RSA Reference MkII has that something special that music lovers find magical. Tube lovers fancy the delicacy and holography of the RSA Reference MkII while solid state fans prize the lack of harshness and smooth, yet excitingly detailed sonic image these cables can produce. Whichever way your equipment preferences run, the RSA Reference MkII transparaently reveals the best your gear has to offer. Make no mistake, these oooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooo....are not your typical "me too" silver cables.

What Makes The RSA Reference MkII so special? For starters, we chose a special and unique solid core Extended Lab Grade™ silver conductor over stranded conductors for many reasons. First and foremost, the combination of our Extended Lab Grade™ silver and that it's solid core offers a coherency and extension that stranded conductors, litz or otherwise, cannot match. Many times, much of the brightness associated with silver cables in particular is a result of the distortions caused by stranding interactions in the wire. In a system with a polite sonic signature, this can add a false sense of detail but it's not accurate and over time becomes quite fatiguing. The absence of listener fatigue while maintaining a rich and textured, high resolution sonic portrayal is but one of the reasons why many of our customers have traded their highly regarded cables for Ridge Street Audio Designs cables. After the conductors are the insulation materials and construction topology. These two things can either make or break a great wire. Get it wrong and you might as well use zip cord or any of the "me too" silver cables available elsewhere. First the insulation. As a test, we took an off the shelf pair of interconnects, stripped the PVC off it and listened. You would be amazed at the difference. With virtually all insulation materials there will be dielectric absorption. To one degree or another, this distortion causes a smearing affect on the audio signal. Delicate details such as spacial cues, air and ambience are confused. Timing and coherency also suffer giving a false sense of warmth. After testing many different insulators including the "poly" family types and different grades of teflon, we concluded that all of these materials substantially degraded the music signal. Of course, this was unacceptable to us. Employing CordLESS Cable™ technology developed out of our research, the RSA Reference MkII uses proprietary insulation materials that virtually eliminate the types of distortion mentioned above and their affects as well as addressing a host of other parasitic nits . The difference is nothing short of stunning.

The application CordLESS Cable™ technology also allowed us to dispose of the otherwise necessary fillers to acquire the electrical parameters we desired. Coupled with a noise rejecting construction topology that allowed us to forego the need for independent shielding (which also degrades the music signal in substantial ways), we were able to meet all our design goals which, admittedly, were pretty lofty. Distortions caused by diode affects, signal reflections, mechanical resonance and skin effect have all been thoroughly addressed. The result is a cable that mates as transparently with virtually any gear as we've auditioned. Transparent, tight, focused, revealing, authoritive and simply musically involving. That's what you can expect from the RSA Reference MkII interconnect.

The RSA Reference MkII is burned in at our facility and directionality is indicated at either end of the cable. Finally, the cables are terminated with Eichmann Tech.'s Bullet Plug® RCA connectors. These sonic marvels, further modified at our facility, are the perfect connector to allow our cable's full performance potential. To learn how these RCA plugs eliminate the bottleneck of RCA connections, take a look at Eichmann's "White Paper" discussion HERE. Finished in a PET black sleeve, the RSA Reference looks as attractive as they sound making our customers proud owners in every way.

The RSA Reference MkII is an outstanding cable that has made it's self at home in some of the most carefully assembled music and home theater systems consisting of some of the finest gear available. Presently, the RSA Reference MkII may be purchased Direct. Warranty and 30 day Buy Back Policy included in purchase. Indiana residents add 5% sales tax.
