Left, Grand Geyser erupts. If there's any geyser worth waiting for, it's Grand. The first eruption, lasting 7 to 10 minutes, sends water up more than 150 feet, but if you are lucky enough to see subsequent bursts (there can be up to four or five), the water shoots as high as 200 feet or more. Grand also makes a very distinctive "whoosh" sound with each burst . The Visitor Center keeps track of Grand's eruptions, check there for predictions, which are usually within a four-hour window.
