Doing God’s Mission in Sierra Leone One
purpose of our recent trip was to maintain strong relationships between our
conference and the Sierra Leone Annual Conference.

RHUMC Raises Money for Rugie Marah Medical Fund On Sunday, May 17, $1,636.60 was raised toward a goal of $3,650. These funds pay for heart tests (echo cardiogram, angiogram, and others), plus a one year’s supply of heart medications. Mrs. Marah has suffered from heart problems for some years, and was unable to afford a trip to Ghana for her cardiologist appointment. Therefore, she has been without medicine for eight months. Thanks go to Peggy Feuk and her family for donating hot homemade cinnamon rolls that were lovingly served Sunday, May 17, as a fundraiser for Mrs. Marah’s medical expenses. Thanks, also, to the many who have donated to this fund.
Sponsor a Child in Sierra Leone Pupils like this boy and girl can be sponsored for $200 per year. That is only 55 cents per day, or the price of a candy bar. Many of these children were orphaned by the civil war in 1999-2000. Others have parents but cannot afford even the small tuition of $15 per year. A sponsorship is faithful to Christ’s challenge that when we serve the “least of these my brethren,” we actually serve Him. For more information about sponsorship, pick up an inquiry form at church.
