Our Purpose
To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Our Vision
Building on the best of our past, we will become an ever stronger Christian faith community who will minister locally and globally through vibrant worship, spiritual growth opportunities, uplifting community, and a variety of outreach ministries.
Our History
On September 13, 1964 our congregation held our first service as an Evangelical United Brethren (EUB) church. In 1968 with the merger of the Methodist Church we became River Hills United Methodist Church. We are governed locally by elected leaders, and we are a connected internationally to over 10 million members of the United Methodist movement. Our Metro-East District Superintendent is Rev. Cindy M. Gregorson and our Bishop is Rev. Sally Dyck. We support missionaries in approximately 100 countries of the world, and reach out to the least, the lost, and the left out at home and abroad. United Methodists believe passionately that we must win souls for Christ on a personal level, and also bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to bear on our society by working for peace with justice at all levels of human life.
Our Future
With 749 adults as professing members, or approximately 1000 baptized members, River Hills Church is moving into the future with enthusiasm and focus. Our goals include expanding education opportunities for couples, parents, young adults and adults in general. Our building has been evaluated for future
usages, and the building committee is recommending several renovation and addition options. We wish to be positioned to serve Christ to the fullest extent possible, here at home and abroad. Our church's welcoming and public relations ministries are helping to spread the word that River Hills is a place of "open hearts, open minds, open doors." We invite you to join with us for worship and all of our activities.
