Fred and Stacy Vanderwerf are United Methodist missionaries stationed in
the Ukraine, a country to the west of Russia. They work in student
ministry and church development in the city of L'viv.
"In these past three years we have seen God's amazing blessing in the
cultivation and development of student Bible studies, student leadership
teams, camps, Alpha groups, English clubs, Christian resources, and much
more," the Vanderwerfs say.
The Vanderwerfs are
Covenant Relationship Missionaries of River Hills Church.
The General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church describes this
relationship as one, "[That] goes far beyond simply a financial one...
Members of the local church and the supported missionary agree to communicate
regularly, to uphold each other in prayer and to meet face-to-face during
itineration assignment."
