My Mother-in-law and I have had a running "joke" for years.
She will asked me "When are you going to stitch an English cottage for me?" and I reply "Next year."
I guess next year actually turned out to be 2007. I finished this in time to give it to her for her birthday.
I looked for the biggest, most colorful cottage pattern that I could find and chose this one.

Finished size of the stitching is 18in. x 11¼in.
Stitched on 18ct. white Aida, dyed using Rit dye.
