The bible makes numerous references to a place of separation from GOD and judgment called hell. Hell is described in three contexts, one before Jesus descended and took the keys to death, hell and the grave; a current hell, which is functioning as a temporary holding tank for the unsaved; and a future lake of fire reserved for Satan, evil spirits, and unbelieving man. There is also a bottomless pit that is being used as a holding tank for fallen beings, and which will be used to hold Satan during the millennium. Hell is described as a place of incredible torment where spiritual beings and unbelieving man will be for eternity. Hell is not a sinners club where sinners can hang out and continue enjoying sinful pleasures, it is a place of the awesome judgment of GOD. Eternity is time without end, which is a difficult concept for us to comprehend, but consider this: Select a number like a billion for example, a billion years is not a drop in the bucket to eternity. Erernity is infinite without end, and your spirit will be somewere for eternity. Satan and the evil spirits are already judged, they have no way out, but GOD has provided a way of escape for man, see this message for more information.
