Lapis - An Overview

The Pan-Solomani Trade Conference of 5639 is being touted as the most important event on Lapis since the signing of the Concordance ended the war nearly two years ago. Any significant agreement reached here could change the face of interstellar commerce for years to come, and greatly improve relations between the former combatants.

So why did the Confederation of Lilain send all of *you* to serve as their delegation?

It's clear that you're all fairly good at what you do, but you know of many other people in the Diplomatic Corps that could do a far better job. Plus, why is it that you haven't gotten the support that you need, and why weren't you allowed to form a larger team? Also, why is it that none of seem to have ever worked with each other before?

Learning that the delegations from the other governments seem as inexperienced as you did nothing to boost your confidence, nor did the fistfight that nearly broke out between the Bootean and RepTauri delegates at the downport. However, when the Lapisi liaison turns up dead in her room just before she was supposed to deliver the opening address, things really start to get *really* shaky.

Your superiors made it *very* clear that your careers and reputations will be forfeit should the talks go badly, but how in the *world* are you going to prevent disaster when *everything* seems to be going wrong?

And who was the *idiot* that scheduled the Conference for the the same week that a gigantic industrial convention, several high-profile family reunions, and even the stupid "Miss Humaniti" pageant are being held on Lapis?

Well, at least the CoL provided you with a local contact to lend a hand...

The player characters of the Lapis Campaign represent the handful of delegates that the Confederation of Lilain sent as their representatives to the conference. Unfortunately, the job is not quite as straightforward as it may seem...
