1966 Ford Mustang

This is my father's 1966 Ford Mustang.

Originally an "A" code 289-4V with C4 automatic transmission, power steering, power drum brakes and air conditioning, it now sports a .060" over 302 with Offenhouser 360° intake, Holley 650 double pumper, Ford 289-HO cam, MSD 5 with Accell dual point and full length headers. The original C4 slush box has been replaced with a toploader with CenterForce clutch assembly and the open 3.00:1 rearend now has an Auburn Gear posi unit with 3.50:1 gear set. The power drum brakes have been upgraded to front discs from Stainless Steel Brakes.

Other external modifications include left and right sport mirrors, a front spoiler, Cobra-Jet style hood scoop, front light bar, electric antenna, rear anti-sway bar, Shelby under-ride bars and Dunlop GT Qualifier radial tires wrapped around sport rims.

Inside is the original black "Pony" interior, center console and A/C with a shelby type gauge pod holding a vacuum gauge and a tachometer/clock "rally-pac". The AM radio has been replaced with an AM-FM-Cassette unit and equalizer.

His "winter project" has been building a 347 stroker engine to replace the current engine. We plan to install it this spring.
