Bedford Family Connection (BFC)

Founded in 1988, the Bedford Family Connection is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization that gives support to local families by providing fun and enriching activities for children ages 0-5 and their parents.
Membership Benefits
- The monthly BFC newsletter lists local and BFC events, news, the playroom schedule, and member classified ads.
- Discounted admission to the BFC playroom.
- Free (or low cost) children’s activities, special events, and parties throughout the year.
- Free (or low cost) parenting workshops.
- Monthly Mom’s Night Out events.
- Help with starting small, organized playgroups of similarly aged children.
- BFC membership directory.
- A Preschool directory to assist members in researching preschools and daycare.
- Opportunities to volunteer in the BFC organization and participate in local charitable events.
Beyond the obvious benefits of joining and participating in the BFC is the number of friendships it has fostered between families. The BFC provides members with a strengthened sense of community while creating and nurturing important relationships while our children are young.
BFC Playroom
One of the most visible attractions of the BFC is its popular playroom. The BFC Playroom is located downstairs at the
First Parish Church,
75 Great Road (use Elm Street entrance),
Bedford, Massachusetts. It is open every weekday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 and loosely follows the Bedford public school calendar. BFC members pay $0.50 per child; non-members pay $2 per child per day.
The BFC playroom is a toy-filled, bright, open space offering a warm, informal atmosphere where children can play together while parents and caregivers supervise and chat. In addition to a variety of toys, books, and puzzles, the playroom offers some basic craft supplies (coloring supplies, PlayDoh), and a carpeted open floor space for imaginative play. Special craft days and other events are scheduled monthly at the playroom.
The playroom is a peanut-free space. All visitors are asked to refrain from bringing in any outside snacks due to the potential of life-threatening allergies. A child’s snack and beverage are served at 10:30 a.m.
